Rotating Door
 

Go-Edit Rotating Doors

Right makes your room

Make you door twice the width than you actually want it and place half of it inside the wall it going to hinge on. Then bind it to Rotating Door. This is because the door rotates around the center point of your brush


Split your Door right down the middle and make small gap between the two brushes by moving the door part in the wall see pic above. You need to make sure when you have both brushes selected the center markers are on the wall as shown in the right view port in the pic above.

Now setting up the brushes and Entities

Select the brush inside the wall and set these brushes properties to

Solid FALSE
Invisible TRUE

The reason for making the gap, is when the door is open that part of the door is exposed and as it is touching an invisible brush it make’s that face invisible which don’t look good
Now Select the Rotating Door Entity
Set The Properties
OpeingTravelsound Set to your SFX
CloseTravelSound Set to your SFX
Trigger Mask set how you want the door to open, I used TM_USE
Door Link = name of second door to trigger open at same time as this one is activated
Speed = how fast it opens
Destin= the Angle and Direction the door moves this can be positive or negative value
Health= Not Sure
Rebound= If True and the door hit an object it return’s back to position it came from

This has taken me about 5mins to write and about 5mins to Figure out how to do it. I know it not the best door system there must be a better way to do it. Ill keep on it and find a better way hope fully.
