Selecting Geometry

To select elements of geometry, first click Geometry Edit [Geometry Edit Button] on the WorldEdit toolbar.

Hint: It is also necessary to be showing wireframes in the view pane where you wish to select geometry. On the context menu for that view pane, point to Options and select Show Wireframe. You must do this for each view pane. DEdit preserves this choice between sessions of editing a particular world file, so that you only have to toggle this option once per pane per world.

In Geometry Edit mode, elements are automatically selected based on their relation to the cursor. The methods of indicating the vertex, the line, and the polygon closest to the cursor are shown in the following table.

Element Visual Effect
Vertex Circled in green
Line Drawn in green
Polygon Drawn in red

You can select multiple contiguous vertices. To do so, hold down T and drag out a rectangle on the screen. The target region is shown in reverse video while the mouse button is held down, to help you determine its extent. When you release the mouse button, all vertices in the rectangle are selected.
