Mode

Options
The Options sub-menu provides the following selections:
- Backfacing
Polies: Select this item to show the
non-viewable sides of brushes. If a polygon (one
plane of a brush) is pointing away from the
camera it cannot be viewed. When toggled on, the
DEdit renderer takes the time to calculate the
shape, position, and display of such polygons
even though the information is then discarded.
- Show
Wireframe: Select this item to show all
wireframes in this pane. When toggled off, only
the wireframe for a selected node is shown. This
item has visual effect only in a Perspective View
pane, but must also be toggled on to enable
selection in Geometry Edit mode in an orthogonal
view pane.
- Show
Normals: Select this item to show
normals for all polygons in this view pane.
Normals are displayed as green lines indicating a
vector perpendicular to the plane of the polygon.
- Show
Objects: Select this item to show or
hide objects in this view pane.
- Show Edit
Grid: Select this item to show or hide
the editing grid in this view pane.
- Show Marker:
Select this item to show or hide the green
insertion marker.
Map
Texture Coordinates
This item will be implemented in a later build.
Rotate
Selection
Select this item to display the Rotate Selection dialog
box. Enter a value for the angle of rotation in degrees.
Click OK. All selected items are rotated around the
origin of the green marker. The plane of rotation is
parallel to the cameras near clipping plane for
that view pane. (The near clipping plane is parallel to
the monitor screen. For more information, see the Camera
Movement and Position section.) Although this action can
be carried out in a Perspective View pane, its effects
are more predictable and intuitive in an orthogonal view.
